Nurses and tongue rings?!

Question: I have had my tongue ring for about a year now...I love it but I am in a program to become a nurse. Will I have to take it out at work or wear "no-see-ums"?

It depends on hospital policy...I have a piercing in mine as well and don't have a problem with it....check with your HR dept to see what's policy

take it out completely

Not if you become a nurse at a tattoo parlor.
Com'on if ,your going to get paid big bucks to help save people, at least have the class to look professional.

It depends how strict your hospital/clinic is. But to be honest since it's your tongue it's not like it's going to get in the way of your work.

Alot of my friends are nurses and they wear theirs, especially through the program they did. I can see it as unprofessional in the work place but if you can hide it well-what they won't know won't kill them!

You would probably have to get a clear ball. IT depends on where you work and what their standards are. So some research about the program and that should give you a better idea on the question.

I think it would be a bit inappropriate for the job. and it may give off the wrong impression. it does depend a bit on your age and look, but i think i would say most likely not.

I personally think it doesn't matter as long as you dress and act professionally.

A Registered nurse is a Professional. Take the tongue ring out! Please don't help to lower the standards of our profession. We don't deserve it. If you can join the ranks- join us with class. We work to hard to get here.
