WHy do we have nocturnal emissions?!

Question: I am very curious. lol I know both male and females get them (males more so) and they are more dominant during the teen years. But...why do we get them past the teen years even after we've had sex. I don't understand lol. Do they serve any kind of purpose to our bodies?

Like ALL of our dreams, they are merely a way to "flush" the toilet of our brain.
Your brain has a lot of disposable info, and the healthiest way (psychologically speaking) to get rid of the un-needed stuff is through dreams.
That is why they make no sense, and a dream that causes a "nocturnal emission" can also wake you up saying "EWWWWW!".

FYI for the guy above me: I call them "dry" dreams...they aren't wet.
Dreams don't have hidden meanings--they are merely the toilet-flush of a healthy mind.

Girls get wet dreams? That's news to me. Of course, I can't imagine a situation where I'd be talking about wet dreams with a girl my age.

Because when your dreaming your thinking about some special person
