Its not uncommon.
I'm guessing that you are under some stress?
Because if you are under any, memory is the first thing to go.

Your body doesnt have the ability to determine the difference between being chased by a lion and fighting with your sweetie....

So if you have any stress, your body literally thinks it being chased by a lion - and if you are being chased by a lion, does what you need to get done by tommarrow really important to your survival? No, which is why the body literally says "never mind with that memeory stuff until we get out of danger"

Problem is, your body also can't tell the difference between the alarm going off in the morning and a lion.....

There are all sorts of memory tricks to improve memory....I would suggest trying a google search, and doing something restorative everyday for a month (i.e. some "me" time everyday) before you worry yourself anymore....

[thats called self induced performance anxiety - another name for, you guessed it - stress ;)

man i sure do and i'm only 18! i'm sure your fine...work on improving though, good luck.

Believe it or not, this can also be caused by hormonal issues.

In any case, I would speak to someone other than this one doctor. Many doctors and facilities these days receive bonuses from health insurance companies for *not* running tests. Sounds like your doctor may be thinking about his wallet more than your health concerns.

Please, do get a second medical opinion. If you have other symptoms of early menopause, see an endocrinologist.

That's why they call it short term memory because it will not not retain in your mind for a long time. There are many factors that causes if you have problems with your short term memory. The following factors maybe the causes:
1. STRESS - this casues the brain to process the problems or stress at the present or what is curentlt the stress. If your short term memory is affected, it means that the memory is not that important to be process.
2. HORMONAL- hormonal imbalnces in women is common because of your monthly periods.
3. EXPERIENCE - if that short memory is unpleasant experience to you. The defense mechanism of your body is to forget that unpleasant memory.
4. TRAUMA - this will affect your brain if you had a recent injury or accident to your head.

But if the above mentioned factors is not present at in your condition now.....then you have a deeper problem.

Try to relax....most short term memory problems are psychological. Stress is the common culprit.

.LIFE is short short my friend.... so enjoy life.

stress will do it too,,
but if one doctor doesn;t listen to you then i would find another one,,your health is nothing to mess with ,,
