White coat syndrome?!
Question: Hi. When I was 15 years old, I went to the doctor's office for a sports physical. I was very thin, fit, and athletic. I got so nervous being there at the doc's office, my pulse was 130's and my blood pressure was something like 180/100...crazy high. My doctor came in and laughed at me, put me at ease, and before I left it was back to normal, 60 pulse and 130/70 bp. Ever since then, I can't go to a doctor's office without having an internal panick attack. I don't even understand why. Now that I'm 25, I have not been to the doctor in 10 years... and every time I went with my wife for the prenatal appointments... calm on the outside, heart racing up my throat on the inside. I really don't know what to do. The funniest thing is, I was almost a physician myself, and then decided at the last moment to do a phd in chemical physics instead.

well i have the same problem. i would like to know exactly why i get so nervous at doctors office. my blood pressure rises like crazy. my heart beats strong and fast. i cant control my anxiety. now my anxiety is getting worse and started to occur in other situations like when pulled over by a cop, or see a girl that i like........ it is very frustrating and i feel like my whole social life is falling. knowin that i am a closer at a car dealership and my symptoms are not visible at work.
