Focalin is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Focalin may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide
Focalin side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using Focalin and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

increased blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, trouble concentrating, chest pain, numbness, seizure);

fast or uneven heart rate;

blurred vision or other visual changes;

unusual behavior, confusion; or

twitching or tics.

Continue using Focalin and talk to your doctor if you have any of these less serious side effects:

sleep problems (insomnia);

loss of appetite;

upset stomach;

feeling restless, anxious, or jittery;

dry mouth, sore throat; or

headache.

Dexmethylphenidate belongs to the group of medicines called central nervous system (CNS) stimulants. It is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in patients 6 years of age and older .

Dexmethylphenidate increases attention and decreases restlessness in children and adults who are overactive, cannot concentrate for very long, or are easily distracted and impulsive. This medicine is used as part of a total treatment program that also includes social, educational, and psychological treatment .

This medicine is available only with your doctor's prescription .

Capsule, Extended Release
Tablet
