Anyone had stem cells harvested from their blood?!

Question: what can I expect? i'm told to expect some big fat bruises and to feel like i've got flu for a few days afterwards! Sounds not too bad but anyone actually gone through it?

Hi,
My dad went through this process a few years ago and I accompanied him to the cancer research center. It isn't a painful process as long as you have a port inserted from having had chemo done. If you are a donor it depends on the sensitivity of your skin. My dad was African American and he did not get any bruising but he was fatigued and cold. The stem cell harvesting process take a long time. We were in the room for over 8 hours. We were able to watch videos and listen to music but you couldn't move because if you did the machine harvesting the stem cells would beep which meant the stemcells were being blocked. I think you'll be fine.

Wish you well.

Don't know a thing. I hope you are okay?
