I am visiting holland and forgot an e111 can i be seen by a doctor i am 69y.o.?!

Question: The doctor will certainly see you in NL (as medical ethics dictate that they must) but without a EHIC (replacement of E111) they will probably ask you to pay on the spot.

In NL everyone (by law) must obtain medical insurance so the doctor will certainly ask for your card.

What you can try to do is to obtain a "provisional replacement certificate". You do not mention which country you are from though so you will need to contact the authority (e.g. Dept of Health) that issues the EHIC card for this and see if they can send by fax if you want to avoid the up-front costs or at least the chances that you will not be re-imbused retrospectively.

If you need to see a doctor go to the hospital, don't worry about forms.

You dont say when you are are travelling. I applied online recently for an E111 and it arrived within a week. Probably the most efficient thing this government has ever done.

The E111 is no longer valid, you have to apply for an EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) which has replaced it.

You can apply online for it and it turns up within a week or so.

Google EHIC.

If you are in Holland you can receive free EMERGENCY treatment. this is under a recipricol agreement with the dutch.
It will not cover non emergency treatment, you should always carry travel insurance especialy at your age.
The E111 has been replaced by the European health insurance card.

Yes but you have to pay.I was a Dutch resident for a long time, gave up residancy went to UK a while, came back to clear out the house and got seriously sick at the same time with no E111 or insurance. Had to get the emergency doctor on call, needed hospital but would've had to pay a fortune so refused.Got a bill from the doctor.
