Excellent question. I believe that it may have something to do with your bodies circulation. Your fingers are closer to your heart than your toes are. Also, your fingernails are not cooped up in socks and shoes either all the time, and most likely this has a lot to do with your toe nail problems.
Do you get much calcium in your diet? How about other vitamins and nutrients? Sometimes these may help you as well.
I'm not sure if you can find anything in any department stores or any beauty shops that can help you. Perhaps this is something you could ask your beautician. Something new is always coming into the market to promote nail growth.
