Pomice stone is the cheapest sollution as long as you're persistant with the treatment (use a moisterizing cream when you do it BTW).

If you ant a faster treatment that's more expensive, go to a dermatologist. If what you have are really bunions, they can burn them with liquid nitrogen. It hurts like hell from what I've heard, but the callus falls off after a few days and the problem solves by itself.

Normally calluses and bunions don't cause problems, but since you claim to have a lot of pain, you need to treat them because you probably walk wrong to avoid pain (which can cause damage to your foot joints later on).

Maybe they're not calluses; those don't usually hurt. Maybe you should go to a doctor or podiatrist and have them checked out. Could be corns, bunions, or something worse.

You should not use toenail clippers! What you should do is soak your feet in very warm water, dry them and then put a moisturizing cream on them. It will take a rather long while, but they will disappear. To speed things along, after soaking them use a pumice stone (every drug store, beauty supply store or bed'n'bath shop sells 'em) to gently rub away some of the dead skin. Then moisturize them. Do this once or twice a day for a couple of weeks. By the way, it's spelled calluses.
