Eye Cold Sore?!
Question: I went to the doctors yesterday, as i has a bloodshot, puffy eye and it was itchy, looked like a cold sore
long story short, It is a cold sore the doctor gave me 3 tablets to take all at once and this was yesterday afternoon, she also gave me zovirax for the eye which i have been putting on 5 times a day.
Anyway i woke up today, my eye looking worse, and she said these tablets where suppose to stop it, But its just really sore and the cold sore has got worse,
what i really want to no is, today when i woke up i have a new problem - its on the left eye and from my left eye accross to my temple i have a lump and its hurting alot like a headache on my face and i can feel the lump, im not sure if this is all part of it, what could it be, and should i go back to the doctor.

You need to go back to the doctor. This has turned into a systemic bacterial infection. Other lesions can break out on your face as this is very contagious.
Crystal: A stye is different from an eye cold sore as this is a form of herpes and much more serious. She has what is known as ocular herpes.
A systemic bacterial infection is an infection that is speading to lymph glands. My daughter had one from lip cold sores that spread to other areas of her face and into her nose and into her system. She became very sick from it.
Go back to the doctor
Get reffered to a specialist anyone other than the original doc....good luck!
Call the doctor's office and describe it to the nurse.
defenetly go see teh doctor agen. or even try and see a difrent doctor. if this one didint help then see fi you can get another openion.
Go back to the doctor. If these dramatic symptoms were expected side effects, he or she would have told about them. It is possible that you were misdiagnosed, or not responding to the medication. Go back, better safe than sorry!
yes you should go to the doctor, and i really do wish that your eye will get better. But like yehai would definately go back to the doctor. I had a stye in my eye one time it like really hurts... :( and like puss kept cuming out. But you know i didnt go to the doctor, i just went to the cvs and they told me i had a stye so i bought some stuff for it that was like $10 and it was gone in no time. you could have whats called ocular herpes (cold sores are herpes by the way). herpes can be spread to the eyes. i think u may need to go back to the doctor if u think its getting worse, maybe the medication they gave u is not strong enough.
