Tips on Contact Lenses? - Just got them! :)?!

Question: I just got contacts lenses, and I don't think my eye doctor was very imformative on a lot of information, so I have a few questions:

1. Are you allowed to put contact solution in your eyes with the contacts in (like an eye drop)? - I use complete multi-purpose.

2. Do you wash your lens case with warm water from the sink or JUST solution?

3. When do you change your lens case?

4. If throughout the day, your contact seems more noticeable then other times, does it mean that your eye is a bit dry? What can you do without having to use a lot of time?

Also, any other tips would be great!!
I use acuvue 2 and my doctor says that I have to change them once a month.

I use acuvue 2 and my doctor says that I have to change them once a month.

1. It doesn't hurt to try it out if they are feeling dry. Most of the time it does work though.

2. Wash the case well with water and fill with solution, close the cap, shake, empty, then refill with solution again to put lenses in case. It's usually easier to just let running water rinse it out for about 10 seconds.

3. Best to change it every 2 months or when it's dirty because the chemicals you smell in the case usually dissolve by that time.

4. Usually, most contacts should be worn no more than 10 hours. That may be a sign of dryness.

kay, btw I'm 13 and got mine in November! The case, whenever it gets dirty looking but you can wash it with soap and water anytime, but rinse good! No, NEVER water, only solution nothing but solution! Yes you can put solution in your eyes like an eye drop, I have to sometimes. When they are more noticeable, they are still fine unless they are bothering you. Good Luck, Congrats on the new eye wear! lol

1. It won't hurt to put the lens solution in your eye. (you put it on the lenses and then the lens in your eye) but it may not give you the moisture or the relief your needing.
2. Wash the case well w/ water and fill w/ solution, close cap, shake, dump put and then refill w/ solution again to put lenses in case.
3. I changed my lens case when it got crappy, as long as you keep it clean, it can last forever. Or change it at your yearly eye exam.
4. Try a different brand of contact lenses, that's what I did!
