Putting lemon into water makes it more flavorful and easier for some people to drink, and it also lends it a slight diuretic quality, so it certainly helps. The real trick there, however, is just drinking water. 64 oz a day will stave off dehydration, which helps to curb hunger (when you aren't getting enough fluids, your body attempts to get fluids from food and you get hungry).
Lots of people swear by apple cider vinegar for weight loss. John Travolta says when he needs to lose weight for a movie he sprinkles it on everything he eats. I believe that works because I think apple cider vinegar tastes like vomit, and if it were on all of my food I wouldn't eat anything! But apple cider vinegar boasts a lot of other health benefits. I used it to successfully treat a case of thrush while I was pregnant, and its used world over to treat yeast infections (take a warm bath with a cup of vinegar in it). I also use it as a shampoo most days, and as a toner on my skin. It works wonders. If your blonde, you can also rinse your hair with it after swimming, and it will keep the clorine from turning your hair green.
But you want to know how to use it to aid in weight loss. Fergie takes shots of it, or so she said in a Yahoo news story yesterday. A lot of people I know mix a couple of table spoons in a glass of warm water with honey, or a glass of juice and drink it that way. I take an apple cider vinegar tablet, because I can't stand the taste.
Also, you will want to increase your fiber consumption. Replace all refined grains in your diet with whole grains, for starters. When you eat a refined grain (white bread, white rice) you might as well be eating pure sugar. Whole grains provide you with fiber and EFOs and protien and a whole plethora of vitamins. Fiber is like a broom that totally sweeps toxins and fat right out of your system. Look for things that say 100% whole grain in the first few ingredients, if it says anything else its meaningless.
Then you might want to consider a store bought detox system, if you're really going hard core, but they are expensive and their results are negliable. Most of them are just natural laxitives.
Also, a heads up, you might want to avoid exposing yourself to beauty products that contain parabens and endocrine disruptors and dioxins and all those nasty chemicals. They can change your hormone production, making your body cling to more fat. Several studies point to parabens as possible contributors to the obesity epidemic. Stick with products with short ingredient lists and only stuff you can easily pronounce on the list. If there's anything on the list that ends with the letters "aben", don't use it. Not only could it be contributing to weight gain, but it can cause infertility for you and your future children! Yikes!

You know, come to think of it, I'm going to add that fruits and veggies are great sources of fiber too, as well as being great sources of antioxidants, which will help you to detox. I like pomegranite and blue berries, for high antioxidant fruits, and spinach for veggies, but all fruits and veggies are packed with them. Try googling super foods.
Also, you can take fiber supplements. Sometimes I do. Cutting back on meat will help with detoxing and weight loss, or at least making your meat choices lean and/or organic. Growth hormones used in conventional meat make you grow too! Organic dairy would also be a good choice for avoiding growth hormones, but you don't have to go organic on eggs, since egg laying chickens aren't given growth hormones.
I have tried every wacky diet in the book, and I have found that works best is following the food pyramid and getting plenty of exercise. Of course, I try to eat and use as much organic products as I can, because they are better for you, I pay strict attention to portion control and I choose whole grains over refined whenever I can.
You'd be surprised how many pesticides and other chemicals are in your system. Remember your skin absorbs 60% of what is on it, plus all the crap thats put in our food, its unreal. Theres no way to avoid it all, but you can google the dirty dozen fruits and veggies that have the most pesticides and get them organic if you can't afford all organic, and that alone will dramatically cut your pesticide exposure.

My friend from massage school suggested Apples and apple juice (3 glasses a day and an apple or two). They do a lot to cleanse out the system even though there are the calories there are a lot of vitamins too. Her Father is a homeopathic Dr for 35 yrs so I assume she has learned from him and knows what she is talking about. If you ask this question again later you should call it "detoxify"
