How long does pain last after a catheter is removed?!

Question: I had a D&C yesterday, and I'm having no pain with that. However, they inserted a catheter while I was asleep and took it out before I woke up and I have had pain all night and all day today. It hurts every time I urinate, and sometimes only starts hurting after I stop and pull my pants back up. I spoke with two different nurses today and they said that it may bother me for a while...but for how long? Does anyone have prior experience, and if so, how long did your pain last?

Mine took a few days, sort of feels like someone scraped me inside. Ask for some anesthetic like you get when you have a urinary track infection, it will lessen the pain. I think it's called Uristat for the over the counter version - it's 1/2 the prescription dose. Watch out, it will change the color of your urine and may stain your underclothes. Rest, and be well soon.
