Would you consider suicide?!

Question: if you knew that you need an amputation of a part of your body?

I really wouldn`t want to live without my legs or arms. That just sounds like a horror movie to me.

Hard answer my friend!
Well... mmm now I think that I couldn't live without any part of my body, but... depends. It depends on the part of the body. True that every part has its functions, but, if you lack one, depending on what part it is, you maybe can do your life perfectly (with some help, of course) or maybe not. Nevertheless, Life goes one... sometimes is easy, sometimes is hard, but in the end, it's beautiful.
This question is very "gore", I can't stop thinking of "SAW" movies!!! lol

No. Not to say that I would be happy with such a drastic body change, but I'd tough it out. I had heard a story in Connecticut several years ago about a 17 year old boy. He was very popular and an excellent football player in his highschool. He contracted a Strep bacterial disease that was a flesh-eating bacterial disease. It moved so quickly that he needed to have both his legs amputated and one of his arms. When the doctors told him that he would need this surgery or die, his immediate response was, "Then go ahead and amputate them. I'm not ready to die". That's a truly inspirational story that I will never forget.

your question is not as far fetched as it may seem... a couple of months ago my grandmother got a bed sore and it became infected. The doctor told my dad to talk to her and ask her whether she would want the leg amputated and live or keep it and let the infections spread making her die within 3 months. My grandmother couldnt give a straight answer, so my dad had to decide for her. She did end up getting better before the surgery and she is doing fine now with both legs.

Yes. I consider it now even with having all my limbs attached. My life had never been good.

Couldnt do it.

Theres no reason to consider suicide, just be thanful u r living. It will be hard on ur family and friends way more than it could ever be on u. Keep ur head high sugar! =]

I probably would be depressed for a while because I love sports, but I also love things that don't require your arms/legs, like learning languages. That's what I want to be, a translator, when i grow up.

probably not, you have to think not only of yourself but those that you are leaving behind. They will feel guilty for the rest of their lives for not being able to "save" you. Look at all of the things that people who have these issues can do. You only limit yourself.

No, I dont think I would ever consider suicide even if I was only left with my head (not that that's even possible). There are so many things you cant still do without legs it would be stupid to do that because you would be going from bad to worse because there is nothing worse than not having a life at all, no matter how bad it is.

i wouldnt b happy 2 live with out my arms or legs...
but...
i still wouldnt kill myself

I've considered suicide for other reasons, but no i dont think I could commit suicide over losing a body part.

I like life too much. It would be difficult to adjust to life after the amputation, but I would rather continue in life than to stop living.
