What are some of the best ways to relieve stress??!

Question: I have terrible stress, it's getting ridiciulous. I stress over the tiniest little things, and usually get terrible headaches because of it. How can I relax, even for just a little bit? I'm open to just about anything. You can even tell me stories about how you relieve your stress, that would be fine too.

Thanks!

I believe in this little thing called ME time! I used to be a very stressed out person all the time. Till I figured out ME time. ME time is all about YOU! Take a hot shower, bubble bath, listen to your favorite music it really don't matter as long as you are doing it for YOU!! It is your time to slow down and do or don't do anything you want. This is your time slot for you to be with you. Not your kids or husband or work. Just shut down and chill. Always remember to take some time for yourself life goes by so fast anymore we forget to relax.

I try to get my mind off of it, or at least try to put things into a different perspective. I might write in a journal, talk to somebody with lots of positive energy, go for a walk, or listen to some nice music. There's lots of things you can try.

Are you sure you want to ask this? You are leaving yourself open to a lot of crap answers!

For the record, I shop, I deep breathe, I Turbo Jam (really love Turbo Jam - and I don't mean fast fruit either). I try to have fun in everything I do.

EXERCISE is a proven way to not only decrease stress but provide a multitude of other healthy benefits.

The first thing to do when you want to know how to relieve stress is to learn how to walk away. Go someplace else, and just cool off. It is often vital to hit that reset button and take a few deep breaths away from the action. The work will still be there when you get back, but being there beyond your breaking point will not get it done. An overabundance of things to do will not be helped by a clouded mind, so give your mind a break. Then, once your head is clear again, you can head back and bang out the projects with the greatest of ease. Or at least more ease than when you were sitting in front of a pile of work and wondering how you would get through it all.

Since people here have mentioned probably every tip I have, including journalling and exercising.....
MUSIC does it for me....For example I had a meeting at the school regarding my son, his aspergers, and his suspension...it was a round table meeting, so 5 people sitting around a table all talking at me....Anxiety to the extreme...so my son and I sat in the car in the carpark with the cd player on really really loud and sang Angels and Let Me Entertain You, by Robbie Williams (his favourite songs, not mine..lol) at the top of our lungs, complete with the air guitar and air saxophone...It was sooooo helpful..I walked into the meeting with a smile on my face, open to the discussion.
Best of luck with it...I hope some of the suggestions given in this forum help you in some way.

Exercise, while listening to relaxing music. Take a walk, bike ride, or swim (obviously, without the music - don't get electrocuted).

Sex, if a partner cannot be found, pleasure yourself, weep and repeat (weep is optional).

Have sex more frequently.
