Another scoliosis question.?!

Question: My dad is taking me to get my back xrayed sometime soon. I have an 8 degree shoulder elevation, shoulderblade prominence, assymetrical hips, and a slight thoratic curve in my spine. Mom had scoliosis, but hers isn't bad, and neither is mine and I doubt it will get bad. Here are some pics, does it look like I should worry? Could it affect me in the future?

Here's my back

The curve is a little under and above my brastrap

Your cat pic is great! :-)

I don't think you should worry at all about your curve. It *could* affect you in the future and you should monitor it occasionally, especially during your growth spurt, but until it is over 10 degrees, it isn't even considered scoliosis.

If your back continues to concern you, get a referral to a scoliosis specialist for an evaluation.

Well in a lot of cases, a curved back continues to get worse over the course of years.
So I think you should take all precautions and yes you should worry and correct the little curve you have now.

pray about it ask for deliverance I will pray for you as well

I don't think you should worry. It doesn't look that bad. My son has mild scoliosis and he's doing okay. He's 22 and the only problem he's had so far was getting a spinal tap for viral meningitis. They had a problem getting the needle to go in because his spine wasn't aligned. Good Luck!

It is hard to say if it will get any worse.

I have had a curved spine for many years, and I am a senior with 6 g-kids. I walk, and bend...and chase a 2 year old all week while his mom works.

I will pray for you too.
