I appear to have had a nosebleed...?!

Question: I woke up one morning recently with blood in a little puddle on my pillow and black crusties up my nose. I'm not so much concerned about this as the cause--is this dehydration, or something else? I've been drinking more water, and it hasn't happened since, but I do want to be sure.

Oh, and don't tell me to see a doctor because I'm positive I'm fine. I just want preventative measures, mostly.

it could just be that your nose was dry and a vein popped...that happens often to me in the day...its mostly during the winter time cause the air is crisp

ewwwwww nasty.. no real girl ever has nosebleeds ... thats plain disgusting and if i were you id crawl up under a rock and hide. ....lol jk idk all i know is that thats kinda weird and creepy

it was probably just because it was dry in your house. If it happens again try using a humidifier.

Oh. I don't know what to do with a nose bleed when sleeping but i know how to stop the bleeding faster. If your right nose hole is bleeding you lift up your left arm behind your back and look up. Also, you should wash your forehead with cold water because people bleed when they are hot.

Yes it can be from the dry air or recent colds. If you happen to get a nose bleed when your awake, pack it with tissue and apply a cold pack wrapped in a towel or something for at least 10 minutes at a time. Not putting to much cold on your eyes. Do not put your head back, you can drown in your own blood..sounds silly but true

A humidifier might prevent this from occuring.
