I think i had an anxiety attack last night?!


Question: i am currently going through some thing that has me down. It started last night I was really upset so I tried to go to sleep and I couldnt. i was shivering uncontrollably with chills. my heart was beating like crazy. i had like 3 hours, if even, of sleep last night. I had to go to work in the morning and i felt so nausious and sick. do you think it was an anxiety attack? Also, if it is, what steps should i take from here? Thank you

yes I think it likely was anxiety. If you are otherwise healthy then it likely is anxiety. There are many medications that can help stop an attack like xanax and there are meds tat can help prevent them from happening like SSRI's like Zoloft or Paxil. If it keeps happening you may need to see a doctor
However there are lots of things you can do to help this from not happening. 1. Stay away from stimulants like caffeine, nicotine and even steer clear of alcohol. 2. Get at least 30 minutes of sweat inducing cardio a day 3. get at least 7 hours of sleep a night 4. stay well hydrated with non-caffinated beverages 5. try meditation or get a self hypnosis cd and listen to it at night with headphones on 6. Eat a good diet, limit too much sugar and take a multi vitamin

Yes it was.. I'm sure because I have them all the time..
