Green tea seems to be in EVERYTHING these days ... I couldn't get my usual lavender bubble bath last Friday, because the store had green tea bubble bath in it's place. Green tea is not just ONE tea, but is any type of tea that is made from 'green' leaves (leaves that dry green, rather than orange, black, grey, etc.) ... and is usually a very 'light' flavor, one many people in the US think close to water, as if we had put a few 'greens' picked from our garden into the water for a few seconds before serving.
Green tea is full of 'antioxidants,' they say ... and we ALL KNOW (???) that the more antioxidants we get, the 'healthier' we feel/are. To get the 'full effect' of green tea, we should use the loose dry leaves picked this spring, and steep it in boiling water for a full 5 minutes, and pour and drink it hot, with a few leaves in the bottom of our cup. If you want to drink green tea as your ONLY source of antioxidants, then you need to drink FRESH green tea brewed hot right before serving. If you want to just 'be in the know' with others, buy whatever says 'green tea' on it, and you'll be right along with most americans ... but if you really want to eat or drink foods with more antioxidants in them, try adding raspberries, blueberries, and cranberries to you 'green tea' ... there are different antioxidants in the berries, and the 'tea' is good served hot or cold ... but DO NOT ADD SUGAR to any of the 'antioxidant' beverages, because sugar has no antioxidants. What 'sweetener' does have them? HONEY ... and just THINK about all of the different 'flavors' honey comes in!

Well I don't know everything about green tea- but I often drink it at the computer and at night. First off, because it's hot tea- it relaxes me, and gets me winding down for the day (this is probably mostly psychological). Also, I often drink it when I'm feeling hungry- it helps curb my appetite. So instead of snacking (especially when I'm online or doing homework or doing something with the kids). I will heat up some water and drink green tea.
Also probably snapple green tea- or any bottled green tea probably has sugar and other preservatives added to it that make it not such a great choice! But if you don'tlike hot green tea- you can use the green tea bags and make ICED green tea- in the same way you would make regular iced tea. This is really good too!
And when making your hot tea- you should only have the leaves/bag in there for about 30 seconds- otherwise your tea can taste really bitter if it's left in too long- but thats just a personal preference also.!

It has great antioxident properties apparently but this is marred by adding milk as the dairy cuts the antioxident action.

Green tea has antioxidants quality...Our bodies thrive towards a better quality of life when enriched with antioxidants. We all should offer our bodies more antioxidants then we do. Antioxidants help our bodies rid the impurities as well as generate the replacement of damaged cells. Enhancing cell growth & repair! Also increased antioxidants promotes good health as well as increases energy! Increased antioxidants enhances the body's metabolism thus resulting in better weight management too! Why not do a simple Yahoo or Google search & read about green teas a little bit, you will be impressed with what you will learn!
