Can anyone help me figure out whats wrong with me?!

Question: ive had the flu really bad since wednesday and i havent been getting much relief from any medication. i have a horrible chesty cough, fever, headache, bodyaches, diarrhea and dizziness. now im beginning to think that the medication i was talking for it is just making me more sick. my stool is now a brown-green. any suggestions on what i could be doing wrong and what i need to do to fix myself? my doctors on vacation at the moment and wont be back until the end of the month. i dont refuse to go to anyone else, but noone knows my history like he does and waiting at the hospital to be seen takes about 4 hours to see a doctor and i dont have anyone to watch my son for 4 hours while i see a doctor.
thanks for your ideas.

depends just what medication you have been taking. At
the end of the day, all it does is mask symptoms of flu. Remember a cold takes a week to clear when treated, and seven days when not! And flu is just a bad version of a cold.

Get outside, get some fresh air and exercise - take paracetamol four hourly (if you are able to) and trying eating lightly but well. Plenty of fluids too. Hope you fel better soon.

there is a nasty bug going around and you probably have it. it really just has to ride it's course and there is nothing you can do. drink lots of fluids though!

some people who keep their house clean and disinfected suffer with many problems like this as their immune system is deprived of the "bugs" it needs to "maintain its database" and continue to protect. This over the top cleanliness leads to many problems with allergies also. The old saying "you've got to eat a peck of dirt before you die" makes a lot of sense.

If you're in the UK the best thing you can do is give NHS Direct a call because they can give you all the advice you need and maybe able to arrange for a doctor to visit you at home if needed. The number is 08454647
