Why can't you get sunburn on the soles of your feet?!


Question: You can my Ex hubby went swimming in a rubber ring with another girl he had no protection and burnt his feet lol. He couldn't walk for two weeks.

You can - it just takes a lot longer than the rest of you cos the skin is thicker!

Well I suppose you could, if you were laying in the sun with your feet up in the air facing the sun

you can, which is why you need to cover them in sun cream if they're gonna be seeing the sun

good question, I've wondered that too. I think it's something to do with the skin is really thick.

Because the sun doesn't shine on the soles of your feet that often and the skin there is very thick.

It's the same as the palm of your hands, the pigment is different and doesn't tan.

You could if you stood on your head for long enough - but by then you would have passed out - which might, of course, cop you a dishy lifeguard ;-)
