Why do we have a septum. (the dimple bit under your nose and above your top lip?!

Is it not something to do with the lips. Maybe it helps form your lips to help pronounce sounds better.

I dont know though so I may be talking rubbish.

People call it "Cupid's Bow" or something like that. It's there from when your lip was developing in your mother's body.

I don't know, but it is a heck of a job, if when you are shaving, you accidently cut it with your razor.

It possibly facilitates the running of fluid down the face.

To track any fluid that comes out of your nose back into your mouth. Survival thing. Same as Eyebrows stop sweat getting in your eyes, eyelashes to prevent dust & tear ducts to wash eyes.

The septum is inside the nose.

That's not the septum, that's called something else I can' t remember right now. The septum is the 'wall' between the two nasal cavities.
