Insomnia and then constantly sleeping. anyone had this before?!

Question: dunno whats wrong with me.

I get bad insomnia but be very motivated with college work etc, then I'll be fine and then I'll go through a phase of constantly being tired and sleeping. Also have no motivation now because of my wanting to sleep so much.

i've looked up the symptoms of depression and I am nearly certain I'm not depressed. can't think of anything else it could be

Can't afford to go to the doc so perhaps, someone here can help???

thanks in advance

Sounds more like a sleep issue.

I personally have a great deal of difficutly regulating my sleeping habits.

I suffer from ADD and do not get sleepy when I should, I must make a concocious effort to lay in bed and think about nothing for 2 or 3 hours before I finally get to sleep.

I once stayed up for over 50 hours with no caffine because I was working on a project and did not feel sleepy, just fatigued.

I use melatonin to help regulate my sleep cycles, its not a sleeping pill, it does not make you sleepy, but it does help you get more restful sleep and it does aid in shifting your sleeping cycle.

Take it 30 minutes before when you WANT to be alseep, eventually you will adjust your schedual to make you sleepy when you should be.

Its not habit forming and does not make you drowsy, its commonly used by frequent travelers to combat jet lag.

Yeah, when I am stressed or anxious I can't sleep at all. Then when I am feeling a bit depressed I sleep in alot. I use to take melatonin...not sure why, but I stopped taking it a few years back. I think it made me kind of slow.

Call your dr. for sure though. Like today, I woke up around 11 and went to bed around 11 pm.
SO we are on the same cycle right now whatever that is. Try working out for atleast 30 min in the morning. Go for a walk. It is proven to help you sleep better.
