Questions about sleep?!

Question: A couple of questions I suppose..

How many hours of sleep is one supposed to get per night? (If it's dependent on age, at 15)
Does one or two hours less than this reccommended amount matter much?
Does it matter WHEN these hours take place? I mean, if one went to bed around 3 am, then got up late morning/midday, would this make a difference, health-wise?

Asking these questions because I've been told I don't sleep enough...though I got 10 hours last night..heh, well, 2.15 am 'til 12..quite by accident, I wanted to get up at 9.. :/

The effects of lack of sleep are only physical, aren't they???

For a 15 y/o, you should be sleeping around 8 hr or so. +/- 2 hrs on average.
It is good to sleep at night when it is dark since thats when your body produces the growth hormones and other hormones too.
If i remember correctly, its around 3 or 4am till 6am or so. (do not quote me on that) thats when your body makes the most Certain hormones.
If you sleep 10 hrs, you are getting enough.

yeah

Teens need 9-10 hours a night...every night.

And no, the effects of lack of sleep are not only physical. They can be mental as well.

yeah.
you'll just yawn alot aha,
im 13, but i only need 10 at the most, 7 at the least.
sometimes i find, 10 makes me more tired!, and 8 feels about right.
thats the recommended amount anyway.
It just means your body wont be up to anything to challenging the next day, but then you just get an early sleep that night :)
xx
