Laparoscopy...?!

Question: I have pain in my tummy (lower part on the right side) since a few months... after several exam (urine sample, scan, blood test), they did not find anything and I should have a laparoscopy in a few weeks to find out the causes (can't be appendix as I don't have it anymore).

I was just wondering if someone had a laparoscopy, how it went, the results, etc... as the hospital did not really take time to talk with me except to tell me that they are gone a put a camera in my tummy under general anaesthetic to see what's happening!

Many thanks ;-)

You may have some adhesions that are causing some pulling. My daughter had pain like you are describing and she had a laparoscopy. I also had one for a tubal ligation. The procedure is quite simple, and is easily tolerated. If you have any residual discomfort, it will be from air that is introduced into your abdomen so that your organs are more easily viewed. Sometimes this air causes pain in your shoulder and chest, but it is better in a day or two. Even though you may not have any pain from the procedure, take it easy for a week or so. It is still trauma to your body. Good luck.

as far as i know they will make three small cuts in your tummy under sedation.they need to see whats your inside your tummy thru a camera..before you go under any operation you have the rights to ask your attending physician about the procedure and anything related to it.
