I'm sorry to read about your situation and hope that I can help. My sister overcame an eating disorder about 4 years ago, so me and my family did a ton of research on this topic. In particular, I came across a website called Recovery Connection (http://www.recoveryconnection.org). They allow you to search by state for treatment centers specializing in bulimia, anorexia nervosa and compulsive binge eating. They also list out all the symptoms associated with each disease. Please let me know if this is of any help to you.

You have conditioned your reflexes to the point where your body goes into purging mode automatically. You will need aggressive treatment to stop this addiction. Ask your Dr for a referral. He's not helping you.

Listen, are you in school? It's sad that your foster parents don't take you seriously, but you need some professional help, so tell your school guidance counselor, the school nurse, your doctor, your grandparents -- SOMEBODY -- that you need professional help!

I wonder if your purging is a byproduct of your relationship with your foster parents?

Check out hypoglycemia on the web. Low blood sugar may be the cause of the need to purge. Eat small in between meal snacks that have protein. If you eat really small more often, and tell yourself that it wasn't a real meal, then hopefully your body will not make you purge.

Tell your school counselor if you can't stop purging.

It's a very good sign that you know you need help.

Try to find another responsible adult other than your foster parents if they're not listening. Keep telling people you can trust.

If nothing else, maybe you could call & make a Dr. appointment for yourself (with another Dr.).

Best Wishes!

There's something about this Issue you're not dealing with... If you don't NEED to do this, & you don't WANT to do this- then there's GOT to be a reason WHY your purging like this! See if you can find a Counselor that deals with this sort of thing- BEFORE it gets any more "ingrained" in your eating habits. -And good luck! :)
