Please help, another sick child question?!

Question: My son is 4 y/o recently started school. This past Friday he woke up with fever (head slightly warm, body extremely warm). Gave fever reducer med and temp went back down. Sat-No fever, body was normal. He is hardly eating but is drinking. Sun-again woke up with body very warm and forehead slightly warm. Again gave medicine to bring fever down. When his fever is down he is running around like nothing is wrong. Process is repeated 2-3 times on days when he does have the fever. No other symptoms. Today, Mon he woke up crying and is still crying saying his tummy hurts but is pointing to his chest area. I have been trying to call the doctors for over two hours and get put on hold and no one answers. After 20 min or so I have hung up. Right now he is asking for a choc. chip cookie. I don't know what to do or if there is something wrong, I will keep trying the doctors but in the meantime any advice or knowledge about this please help. thank you in advance.

persistent low grade fever is sometimes a symptom of underlying problem...so just bring your child to a doctors check up.
