Humans do breath though the skin, however very little!.
Supplying required amount of oxygen through skin would require significant re-design of human which would force many risks:
Large amount of bloodvesels directly behind the skin, which would make cutting yourself more dangerous!.
Air connection without filtering system our noses are would make us more easy target for diseases!.
In a winter we would have hard time breathing due to clothing
