Is sniffing sugar bad?!


Question: Is sniffing sugar bad!?
So at lunch today my friend and I were hanging out and my other friend comes with this sugar thing called pixie dust or whatever that you can eat!. SO I started joking that it looks like crack or cockaine and my friends and I joke and blah blah!. But then my friend actually sniffs it and he says it felt tingly and it stings and all that!. Is that un healthy!? I mean i didn't force him to do it!. But it was quite funny!. He did it before with pepper and now is attempting salt!. What a goof!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's not good I'll tell you that!.

Superfine sugar powder (like the stuff in pixie sticks) is fine enough that it will quickly dissolve upon contacting the moist membranes in your nose!. This will then leave you with liquid sugar on the membrane, and an osmotic imbalance!. The stinging/tingly sensation is basically where the membranes are hurting because you're ripping water and ionic compounds from the membrane to the sugar liquids to preserve homeostasis of the system (equilibrium)!.

If that's too complex, then the simple form is, sugar isn't meant for your nose, it's for your tongue, so don't keep doing it!.

Yes it is bad, due to anything you sniff could block your sinus, can cause sinus infections and at times they can get so bad that you could end up having sinus surgery!. Plus anything you sniff goes directly to your brainWww@Answer-Health@Com
