Answers:
Hard to say without a blood test!. Go to your doctor, tell him, and ask him to do a CBC!. Check for low platelets, anemia, cancer (leukemia), etc!.
But chances are you broke a blood vessel from sneezing, blowing too hard, allergies, or dry thin mucus membranes!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

This exact same thing happened to me!!.!. turned out it was because of my broken nose!.!. it should stop within a few weeks!.!.!. my doctor said it was just the remainder of the blood from the break :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your nose had a lot of tiny blood vessels in it, and dry air, allergies, rubbing at a lot can all cause these the break and give you a nosebleed!. Unless it bleeds for a long time (more than 45 minutes) they aren't serious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

HOPE THIS HELPS:

Most nosebleeds are mere nuisances; but some are quite frightening, and a few are even life threatening!. Physicians classify nosebleeds into two different types!.

Anterior Nosebleed: The nosebleed that comes from the front part of the nose and begins with a flow of blood out one or the other nostril if the patient is sitting up or standing
Posterior Nosebleed: The nosebleed that comes from deep in the nose and flows down the back of the mouth and throat even if the patient is sitting up or standing!.
Obviously, if the patient is lying down, even the anterior nosebleeds seem to flow in both directions, especially if the patient is coughing or blowing his nose!.

Nevertheless, it is important to try to make the distinction since posterior nosebleeds are often more severe and almost always require the physician's care!. Posterior nosebleeds are more likely to occur in older people, persons with high blood pressure, and in cases of injury to the nose or face!.

Nosebleeds in children are almost always of the anterior type!. Anterior nosebleeds are common in dry climates or during the winter months when the dry air parches the nasal membranes so that they crust, crack, and bleed!. This can be prevented if you will place a bit of lubricating cream or ointment about the size of a pea on the end of your fingertip and then rub it up inside the nose, especially on the middle portion (the septum)!.

Many physicians suggest any of the following lubricating creams or ointments!. They can all be purchased without a prescription: Borofax ointment,? A and D Ointment,? Mentholatum,? Vicks Vaporub,? and Vaseline!.? Up to three applications a day may be needed, but usually every night at bedtime is enough!.

If the nosebleeds persist, you should see your doctor, who may recommend cautery to the blood vessel that is causing the trouble!.

To Stop An Anterior Nosebleed

If you or your child has an anterior nosebleed, you may be able to care for it yourself using the following steps:

Pinch all the soft parts of the nose together between your thumb and two fingers!.
Press firmly toward the face-compressing the pinched parts of the nose against the bones of the face!.
Hold it for 5 minutes (timed by a clock)!.
Keep head higher than the level of the heart-sit up or lie with head elevated!.
Apply ice (crushed in a plastic bag or washcloth) to nose and cheeks!.

To Prevent Re-bleeding After Bleeding Has Stopped
Do not pick or blow nose (sniffing is all right)!.
Do not strain pr bend down to lift anything heavy!.
Keep head higher than the level of the heart!.
If Re-bleeding Occurs
Clear nose of all blood clots by sniffing in forcefully!.
Spray nose four times on both sides with decongestant spray (such as Afrin,? Duration,? Neo-Synephrine,? etc!.)
Pinch and press nose into face again, as in steps 1-3 above!.
Call doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had the same problem!. Sometimes the inside of your nose gets dry and the vessels break and cause a nosebleed!. They can get pretty bad!. Just put a little vaseline on a qtip and rub it inside your nose a few times a day!. It should help!. If not, then go see an Ear Nose and Throat specialist!.

Hope this helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

there can be several reasons!. The most common is due to a cold or dry membranes, often caused by dry heat during the cold months!. Of course, there are several medical reason as well!. If they last for more then 30 minutes and/or soak a face towel you should head for the ER then follow up with your doctor!. Do not be satisfied with the dry membrane diagnoses, insist on blood work to rule out other conditions!. Myself and my three daughters have blood disorders whose first sign was nose bleeds and all misdiagnosed with dry membranes!. If they are less then 30 minutes long but occur several times a week, again, see your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont think it is normal!. when i was little i went to a hospital to stop my nosebleeds!. it wasnt surgry tho!. and everything was great until!.!.

i am in taekwondo and for my Jr!. Olympic training, my team and i were training in 20,000 ft above see lvl and i got a nosebleed!. (one of my friends had the same problem as me and it was just as bad as mine) it was VERY bad!. like dripping and when the drips hit the ground, they were hug!. like an inch!. i thought i was like dieing, lol!. thats how bad it was!. and since that, my nose bleeds have been the same nasty, and big nosebeeds!. i think it was because i was in an environment that, i wasnt used to at all because it was so high!.

i would recommend seeing a doctor!. if you have bad nosebleeds like mine dont lean back!. tilt yur head forward and pinch your nose!. hold it for a while!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
