Nurses...Phlebotomists...... th!

Question: Nurses!.!.!.Phlebotomists!.!.!.is this possible !?!?!?
I went to a lab today for a blood draw, the nurse used a butterfly needle to draw my blood!.!.!.!.I didnt check if the plastic wrapper it was in was sealed or not!.!.!.is it possible that the nurse by mistake re wrapped the butterfly with its tube and put it back in the plastic wrapper and reused it on me by mistake!?!? will it be obvious if it was used!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I don't think she reused it!. Usually when you open tthe wrapper on a butterfly needle, it can't be resealed!. Also, there would still be blood in the tube if it was used previously, so you (and the nurse) would definitely have noticed it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nope, the standard of practive is to use a "New" butterfly and/or syringe on each patient!.!.!.the nurse cannot re-wrap it into the same sleeve it came out of!. No worry here!.!.!.I'm sure the nurse is confident! Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I highly doubt it!. I work at a hospital and after every procedure with a needle the nurse is supposed to put it in a sharps container to be disposed of properly!. I highly doubt the nurse reused a needle!. Don't worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no!.!.!.they do not re-use needles in this country!.!.!.don't worry - you'll be fine!.!.!.promise!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
