Child's Fever, when to go to the hospital?!

Question: Child's Fever, when to go to the hospital!?
Last night I had to call my daughter's doctor (who was on call , after hours), because her temp!. was almost 103!.

I always thought 103-104 meant you should get the the ER right away, but the doctor said that a child's temp can get to 106 with out needing to go to the emergency room!.

Needless to say I'm a little shocked at that statement, because a few years back I had a different doctor and my other daughters temp was 104 and the doc said "get her some ibprophen, tylenol and soak her in a cool bath for 20 minutes, then get down here right after"

Why would one doctor act one way, while the other acted like it was no big deal!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
