Should I be concerned by the fact that my ears still hurt two weeks after taking!

Question: Should I be concerned by the fact that my ears still hurt two weeks after taking antibiotics!?
I went to the clinic on campus over two weeks ago and they said I had an ear infection, prescribed a fie day course of azithromycin that I completed!. At first my ear infection seemed to clear up completely, but I still have a lot of pain in my ears though I have no fever and the discomfort is the only symptom!.!.!. It seems to come and go during the day, and it's worst during the morning and at night!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Many doctors are over-prescribing antibiotics for ear aches!. They don't work!. So, don't expect the antibiotics to help you!.!.!.!.or better yet, cure you!.

You may just have a bad ear infection, which will take time to clear up!. However, you could also have an issue with your nerves (which is sorta what the previous post-er said about the molars)!. The nerves connect so many different places, that sometimes an infection or problem in one area will manifest itself as pain in another area!.

My suggestion --- go to an audiologist and have him/her check it out!. In the meantime, they will give you a hearing exam and any referals to other specialist!. General practioners only know a limited amount of info and often cannot give you the specialized care you need!.!.!.!.!.!.not even to mention the clinics on many campuses!.

Hope you feel better soon!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i was watch news the other day and they said antibiotics dont help the ear most heal on it ownWww@Answer-Health@Com

I would go back to the doctors because you obviously need something else since it's not working!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go back, the main infection may have been addressed but you may have fluid buildup or other issues remaining!. There may still be some infection that is causing the pressure to build!.

Also as a long shot, how are your teeth!? Bad molars have been know to cause pain felt in the ears!. An infected tooth could pass the bacteria to the ear canals and if not corrected could reinfect later!. Ask a pre-med!.
