Question: Diarrhea and menstrual cycle!?
Has anyone suffered from diarrhea before/during/shortly after their menstrual cycle!? I don't have period cramping very often, but the other =( What have you done to alleviate the constant feeling of having to run to the bathroom!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You aren't the only one it happens to!. I get diarrhea along with my period!.!.!. I have for as long as I can remember!. I also got diarrhea at the beginning of pregnancy!. I think it is caused by the body's reaction to a change in hormones!. I just try not to eat too much fiber around that time since that can make it worse!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Yes!. Usually a day before or the day my period acutally comes on!. Usually after that one day, I don't suffer any more!. To tell you the truth!.!.!.I hate it!.!.!.it's awful!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Diarrhea and cramps are very common in the 48 hours before the onset of flow!. Oftentimes this is preceded by a week or so of constipation!. The hormone progesterone is tied to constipation (it is a smooth muscle relaxant, and the gut is a smooth muscle)!. The diarrhea and cramps are caused by the withdrawal of estrogen and progesterone and the subsequent production of prostaglandins!.
