Will choose best answer, need some advice.?!

Question: Will choose best answer, need some advice!.!?
Ok well this is along story with lots of tests results, but please be patient!.!. I could really use some advice!. I have been seeing an endocrinologist since July, 2007!. It was first for womanly problems( I have had an absent period for two years, and It turns out I was Insulin Resistant!.) so she put me on Metformin!. I took it for a few months, and it didn't help- still no natural period on my own!. So after a few checkup appointments, with no progress we scheduled another appointment!. Well, before the appointment about a month before- I started having dizzy spells whenever I would lay down, or sit up!. I mean, I hardly ever get dizzy- but it was REALLY bad!. So when we went , I informed my doctor and she was concerned and said that it was probably something else, since the Metformin should have worked if it was going to work, and I am having symptoms of other things!. This appointment was in February of this year!. So the Metformin was not helping with what it was prescribed for!. She then scheduled me for an ATCH stimulation test, and also had a BMP done, and everything that she could suspect, checking my Aldosterone and Renin, and Sodium!. Everything came back normal except my Sodium and Aldosterone!. My sodium was on the low side, and this alarmed my doctor I want to say it was around a point under normal, or on the lower normal side!. My Aldosterone was double what it was suppose to be!. The normal level is around 13, mine was 32!. So they asked to check my blood pressure because of the dizziness !. So I laid down and sat up , taking my blood pressure - and it dropped just a few points when I sat up!. It was still in the normal range though!. My doctor then decided to do a test where she put me on a LOW sodium diet for two days, and then a HIGH sodium diet for three, and in-between have the blood tests to see what my Sodium and Aldosterone did, how they fluctuated!. Well, on the high sodium diet- my sodium stayed the same! Still lower on the normal side, but my Aldosterone went to normal!. Then when I was on the LOW sodium diet, my sodium dropped to nearly comatose level! Dropping to 126, which is dangerously low!. My aldosterone went back up to 42!! More than it was to begin with!. My doctor was puzzled, because of all this!. So she decided to put me on Florinef- a medicine used to treat Addison's which , I do not have!. She wanted to see how it might help my sodium and Aldosterone!. So I took that for a few weeks, and then recently she retested my sodium( blood, and urine), Cretatnine ( for the second time, which is normal as it was previous!.) a BMP, Aldosterone and Renin!. Everything was in normal, but there was one problem!. My Renin has doubled from what it is suppose to be! Although the medicine raised my Sodium to 141, and lowered my Aldosterone to 19!. My Renin is now 9!.9, where it is suppose to be around 4!. My Renin was always normal before!. So now she advised me to stop taking the Florinef- and just salt everything alot, and be retested in a month!. She is at a loss I think, as am I!. My body just isn't keeping Salt!. She said she had never seen anything like this!. Has anyone been through anything similar!? Or know what could be going on!? I am at a loss!. Thanks for reading!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow!. That is a lot going on, but some of it sounds similar to a problem that I was recently diagnosed with!. Florinef is a steroid used to increase blood pressure for people with Orthostatic Hypotension!. This can be diagnosed by doing a tilt table test!. They are painless and usually only take about 30 minutes!. Since you are getting dizzy and have low sodium, like I did, I would suspect this is one of the issues!. You need to see a cardiologist and they can get the test ordered!. I was passing out too, so it was pretty easy to suspect that it was my heart or blood pressure!.

With the MIA menstrual cycle, have you seen a fertility specialist!? Even if you are not trying to get pregnant, these specialists are great at being able to diagnose and treat female issues!. You may have severe endometriosis or blocked tubes, which will keep you from having a regular menstrual cycle!. There is a test to look at blocked tubes, but endometriosis can only be diagnosed through laproscopic surgery!. Many women have this and do not even realize it because they don't have any pain!. There is a medication called Medroxyprogesterone which will regulate your cycles!. I would go months without having one, and once I started this, they are every 28-30 days!. It is not birth control!.

As for the other issues, some doctors are great with problems on which they are familiar, and have no clue about other issues!. It sounds like it is time to get a copy of all your medical records and test results and seek another opinion!. This doctor may be trying to lump all of the symptoms into one diagnosis, when it actually sounds like it is at least two problems, if not more!. There is no harm in seeking out another doctor, but I would ABSOLUTELY get a referral to a cardiologist and look for a good fertility specialist in your area!. Most insurance will cover your visits and any possible surgeries since this is not directly linked to infertility!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wow!.!.!.that's a lot of stuff!. Some of what I read, I didn't know what it even was!.

I have no advice for you, but do wish you the best of luck and I hope that your doctor can figure out what's going on with you!.

Just don't give up!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If your doc is at a loss it's time to get a second opinion - unfortunately, endochrinologists are very well read and up on their field, so I don't know who you could go to "above" her!. Ask her if she knows a clinic or something you can go to that has more docs to get more "brains" in on it!.!.!.
No good doctor gets upset if you say you want a second opinion - only the quaks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The only thing I can suggest is to get another doctors opinion!. My son has had serious kidney issues since he was 9 years old (he's in his 30's now); at the time doctors removed his appendix when in actuality it was kidney stones! Over the years he's seen different medical people all over the country and it finally took a doctor in Nashville TN to take the time to go over every single one of his records and finally put him on medication to help!. So like one person said--don't give up--but seek additional medical opinions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am terribly sorry and no I have never been thorugh anything similar!. But what I can tell you is that I have also been subscribed for medication that had no effect on me!. I was diagnosed with asthma 2 years ago!. I recieved medication Azithromax and Pretnezone!. I have taken three times in my life and the side effects are not as I should say "pleasant!." This medication did heal the weezing in my lungs but came back in 4 months!. Asthma is where you have trouble breathing but I have never had trouble breathing so I obviously dont have asthma right!? My weezing is worse then any asthmatic they gave me the nebulizer which is used for asthma attacks did nothing to stop the weezing "NOTHING!." Even though the pretnezone works I refuse to take it ever again if I keep this medication in my life it can become deadly since it is a type of steroid and can cause cancer in the long run!. I have refused to see my docter and seek a specialst!. The weezing does bother meI mean hearing this awful sound when I breathe is not normal!. My other point is when I was 8 years old I was literally getting sick from every single food I put in my mouth!. Stomaches from everything!. I was 69 pounds 5 foot 2!. Compleatly unnormal!. I was apparently told by my docter anerxic!. I was forced to eat since I refused not because of Iwanted to loose weight but because I was scared of the pain!. I had blood tests, ultra sounds, and upilnary bowel track test forgot the name of it!. All came out normal!. Just one day I got better!. I am perfectly fine except for my lungs!. But my point is since she has no idea what is wrong with you this dosent mean that its permanent!. It can be temproarly yes maybe it rare but it dosent mean its life threatning!. My advice is to go find the cure yourself!. I have been taking special supplement and work better then all of the medications I have took an trust me I have had alot! These supplements work better then the drugs!. If you are determined go to the library and study what may help and discover a it on your own!. Thats what I did!. I strongly advise you watch Lorenzo's Oil its a perfect example!. I give you my blessing and hope you for the best!. Good Luck!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My father had similar problems years ago before all these new drugs!.He was told to take a salt tablet everyday and as long as he took it he didn't have any problems!.Later they discovered all the problems he'd been having were due to an imbalance in his tyroid functions!.Some times they were fine others they were to high or to low!.It depended on how much stress he was under as well as his diet and physical activity!.I know I'm no help but maybe talk to your doctor about no medications and a plain old salt tablet to regulate your sodium levels!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
