Does chicken soup help with a cold or flu?!

Question: Does chicken soup help with a cold or flu!?
My husband has the flu!. This morning I said I'd make him some chicken soup, because my mother always gave me chicken soup when I had a cold!. He said that chicken soup is an old wives tale and the only reason they give you chicken soup is, because it's easy to eat, seeing that you can't breathe through your nose!.
Is that the real reason they give you chicken soup or is it really good for a cold or flu!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It works but not from the TIN! I can't give you the scientific reason (nobody can) but for maximum effect:

1) Roast a chicken (as normal)!. Cover with foil whilst cooking

2) After cooking: remove white meat (breasts etc)

3) Add remainder to a large pot (add barely, seasoning and crushed garlic, carrots, all optional)!. and cover with water!. The key ingredient is the BONES (include skin)!. Make stock from dripping and add to pot

4) Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer for 2/3 hours!. Partially cover!. Add white meat 20 Min's prior to serve!. Remove any skin from pan and serve!.!.

5) Eat piping hot

There is a theory which states that whilst cooking a chicken a certain substance is released which gives relief to colds and flu!. This substance is highly concentrated within the bones and to a lessor extent in the meat and skin!. In olden days they would cook the feet also!.
!.
Obviously science hasn't managed to identify and replicate this substance otherwise we would have tablets!., My advice, try it, it's healthy, delicious and wholesome!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.I used to just use the remnants of Sunday lunch!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.

In the same way that the red Indians were using the the source of aspirin from tree bark !.!.!.some of those old wives knew their stuff!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, it is good for colds and flu!. Mostly because if eaten really hot it will make the sufferer sweat and this helps get rid of toxins!. It is also a comforting, pleasant tasting food when you are feeling unwell!. I think it has been proven scientifically to help against colds!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it does!. this is because your appetite can be low when you are ill and soup is more of a drink that a solid but holds a good amount of vitamins and proteins that the body needs to fight off the bug!. So it is palatable and likely to stay down which speeds up recovery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
