yes!!! and it is very frighting i get it quite alot!. Waking up in bed to find yourself totally paralyzed and it's hard to breathe, is by far one of the worst feelings ever, and when you add the even more horrible feeling of being pinned down or watched, and you have a basic definition at best!.

I find it very hard to stay awake it makes me very drowsy and i keep falling back into an "attack", generally i have to rock my body out of it (even though my body doesn't move) i hear god awful buzzing noises too!.

The general explanation is REM sleep--the phase of sleep in which most dreaming occurs--is simply malfunctioning!.

Our bodies are paralyzed while we undergo REM sleep, and for good reason (lest we act out our dreams and injure ourselves)!. But in some small number of cases we can actually start to wake up before paralysis wears off, and yet still remain in a dreaming state!. What results is hallucination, often of some extremely scary stuff!. It appears that humans have always experienced sleep paralysis and sought to explain it, resulting in well known stories of incubi and succubi--demons thought to sexually attack people in their sleep--as well as related tales from other eras and cultures!.

hope this helps tell your friend seh's NOT alone :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes i do!. Its when the part of the brain for thinking wakes before the part for movement, so you know you are awake, you can see it, but the mobility area of your brain hasnt engaged yet so you cant move, as though you are paralysed!. It isnt dangerous or unhealthy or anything, just a little weird and scary when it happensWww@Answer-Health@Com

A few members of my family have experienced this!.My opinion is this!.(Fact!.) When you sleep your body becomes
paralysed so that you don't physically act out your dreams!.
I would think that with some people their mind wakes up slightly
before the temporary paralysis ceases!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

When you dream your body is paralysed - otherwise your body would be acting out all the actions you took in your sleep!. Sleep paralysis is when that is not fully disconnected when you wake up!. I've had it once and it was pretty disconcertingWww@Answer-Health@Com

she is out of her body, sometimes our spirit leaves the constriction of the human body to be free, no problem, she comes back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
