I have the same problem
This tends to work for me although not all the time
Once you are in bed with the light off etc
relax each part of your body in turn starting with your feet!. I tend to only relax the parts that come in contact with the bed so for me it goes feet, knees, hips, torso, neck, head!.
Does mucic help you!. If so try some relaxing music!. Any type you find relaxing is fine!. Some music can relax some people and not others!.
Also try doing something relaxing either in bed or prior to going to bed!. Such as reading, listening to music or watching TV!. Make sure that what you are reading or watching isn't going to start your brain off again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Go to sleep & wake up at the same time everyday!.
Create a calming bedtime routine!.
Take a warm shower or bath
Drink Traditional Medicinal's "Nighty Night" or Celestial Season's "Sleepytime" teabags!.
If you are thinking a lot, write down all your worries on a sheet of paper!.!.!.put it in a drawer!.
Do deep breathing: Inhale thru nose; exhale thru mouth; rest!. Each for a count of 3!. Do 5 minutes at a time!.
Make room dark!. Keep it cool!.
If you can't fall asleep after 20 minutes!.!.!.get out of bed & read something boring, watch TV (no computer)!. When you feel tired go back to bed!. If it happens again, repeat!.
If you wake up once your asleep, don't look at clock!.
Try lavender spray!.
Try (OTC) Tylenol PM, Unisom, Sominex, Dramamine!.!.!.just for a few days!.
