Penicillin and amoxicillin can i mix them?!

Question: Penicillin and amoxicillin can i mix them!?
I have had a sinus/ear infection for a while now and i started taking amoxicillin two days ago but i only have enough for one more day!. I have almost a full prescription of penicillin so my question is when the amoxicillin runs out should i start taking the penicillin!? Will it continue the amoxicillin's job or will it have to start over on its own!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

These are both antibiotics so should work the same "magic"!. Are the strengths the same!? I would check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure but I would think it would be fine to take the penicillin after the other one runs out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

amoxicillin is jat another formulation of penicillin which comes in a lot of varieties

it sounds like you are SELF MEDICATING with stuff from friends or left over from some earlier illness

there should never be any left over!. you must take the full pack even if you feel better, otherwise you are leaving behind a few germs, which will multiply but be resistant to the drug, so next time the same drug will not work on them!. This is silly and dangerous!.

maybe the infection you have now is one that grew like this, so the stuff you're taking is not going to work anyway

go back to the same doctor who knows what you took before, or tell him as close as you can remember, then you will get something different which WILL kill your infection even if it got resistant to the stuff you are taking the leftovers of!.

this time make sure you take the whole pack!. If it doesnt work the doctor send a sample to the laboratory where they willtest out which medicine will kill your germs!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic antibiotic, an analog of ampicillin, with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms!. Minimum treatment period is 48 hours!. Common treatment periods are a week to 10 days!. Though for stubborn infections, therapy may be required for several weeks!. I know of no known interaction problems with penicillin, but as it is not exactly the same, best to check with your doctor or pharmacist for the final word!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It will fininsh the job of the amoxicillin!.You do need to at least talk to your doctor but they are the same thing!.Hope you get to feeling better!.And oh by the way the penicillin will not have to start over it will just pick up where the other left off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call your Pharmacist, or your Doctor, since they both have Penicilin as a base it may work for you!. Discussing it with a proffessional will help give you understanding what is best!. for your infection, in order to clear it up!. Get well soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
