Why do my ears hurt when I cry?!

Question: Why do my ears hurt when I cry!?
When I was little, my mother told me that if I sucked snot into my head (via my nose) that my ear would always hurt when I cried!. However, I haven't done that in a long while---especially since my bout with chronic bronchitis last year---and I was wondering!.!.!.

When I am in a state of emotional distress or watching an extremely sad movie, my ears always feel like the pressure inside my head is building and about to pop!. Like when you're in an airplane going up or down, or when you travel into a higher altitude (I live in PA, so my ears pop on a daily basis)!. So why do my ears feel like they are going to pop but won't!?

Also, when I come home from down in town, going up the mountainside to my home, I only feel the "pop" in my right ear!. I hear better out of this ear and also tend to turn my head to people with that side!. I know my hearing is bad, but is it my eardrum that is at fault!? Or what could it be!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Your ears, tear ducts and nose are all hooked together!. If you plug your nose and blow the air will either pop your ears or come out of your tear ducts!.!.gross i know!. If you are concerned go to your doc :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
