What will be my permanent height? When do women stop growing?!

Question: What will be my permanent height!? When do women stop growing!?
I'm 14, and I'm about 5'4 or 5'5!. I'm not sure!. I have an uncle who is 6'2!. My dad is 5'10 and a half!. He's supposed to be really tall but he kind of stopped growing when he drank and smoked during his teenage years!. My uncles and aunt on my father's side are fairly tall!. I have Spanish, Chinese, and Filipino blood in me!. My mom is 5'4, I am now taller than her but that's because she started drinking and smoking when she was about 11 or 12 years old!. Drinking and smoking can greatly affect your height!. The fact is proven!.

I want to have a permanent height of 5'9!. Do you think I still have the chance to reach it!? I don't drink nor smoke!. What can I do to grow taller!? What's the tallest and shortest height I can be!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I heard that one of the biggest factors (other than genes) to affect your final height is how well you grow through the first year of life: there was this study where identical twins were measured throughout their growing years and when one was poorly duing the first year and did not grow to their full potential (genetically predisposed) height, they never ever caught up again!. I understand that keeping fit and healthy throught out the growing years can help you reach your fullest possible height, hence your parents may not be as tall as they might have got!. So I'd suggest you can't do much more than eat good wholesome food with lots of fresh fruit and veg and a good mix of fibre, carbs and protein without too much fat, salt or sugar; do a little regular exercise; keep off the cigarettes and alcohol!. You can have no way of telling when you will have growth spurts: I went to school with a girl who was exactly same height as me age 9, then I outgrew her and was much taller for most of the teens until she suddenly shot up after age 16 and was then finally several inches taller than me! You could ask your parents if you did well in the first year of your life - I was a sickly baby, and while my brothers, nephew and dad are all over 6' and my mum and sister over 5'7" I never got much more than 5'5" in the end!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could still be growing, but you could also have reached your permanent height!. You'll just have to wait and see, but based on your parents this seems like it could very well be where you'll stay forever!.

The shortest height you can be will be what you currently are now because you won't shrink until you're elderly!. The tallest, well it depends because some people have a thyroid problem and never quit growing and it doesn't have anything to do with genes!.

If I was going to guess I'd say you are pretty much done growing though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's possible that you'll keep growing, but I'd say most likely you're done!. :)

I was 5'8" when I was 14, and thats where I stayed!.

I really don't think theres much you can do at this point to keep growing!. Eat a healthy diet, and think tall!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ugh!.Sometimes growing sucks!.
Usually us Filipinos don't grow that tall but apparently I was "blessed"!.I'm younger than you and I'm 5'9 -_-Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think you are tall enough as is!. im only 5'1!. just dont worry about it so much!. you are a good height!.
i heard drinking a lot of milk and getting a lot of calcium can help though!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Girls usually stop growing at 15 so you will probably gain another inch in the next 12 months!. Reaching 5'9 is remotely possible but highly unlikely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you have reach your fullest it used to be that woman stopped growing aroung 17 or 18 now this days cause all the hormones is around 14 to 16 ; and have you notice people are taller these days!.!.!.!.!?!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, they grow in height for 20 years, then grow in width for around 40 more, so i guess around 60!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't be so snobby!. I'm almost a 19 year old male and I'm only 5'3!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all drinking and smoking really don't affect your growth!. Your growth is in your genes and height comes from your mother's father, mainly!. Genetically you will probably be short due to you heritage!. Your Dad is average height, and just because he drank and smoked, is NOT the reason he stopped growing!.

Women can grow until about 21 - 22 years of age!.!.!.but usually a woman has reached her full height by the age of 18 or so!. Everyone has different growth spurts and some grow tall early and stay the same!. Some are short until they are 19 and then grow a lot!.

Personally, I was about 5' 1" and very thin until I was 16 or so and I grew 6 inches in one short summer! My brother was 5' 0" and thin and is now 6'3" and he grew 9" in one summer at the age of 19!

Since you are relatively young, you do have a good chance of growing taller, but then one cannot choose their height!. Certainly you should be happy as you are!. The shortest height is what you are now, and the tallest!? I would say you've reached it or are close!. Who knows!. If you eat right and exercise, stay fit and take care of yourself you will be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
