Answers:
First!.!.!.the name of the virus is "herpes"!. Second!.!.they are "cold sores" - two words, not one ;-)

Now for the answers to your questions!. Oral herpes ("cold sores" or "fever blisters") and genital herpes are caused by two different strains of the herpes simplex virus!. Unless a person has open oral herpes sores around the mouth, it is unlikely that they could transmit the virus to another person through genital contact!. And if they did transmit the oral herpes virus this way, it would still be oral herpes (herpes simplex 1), not genital herpes (herpes simplex 2)!.

Condoms can help prevent transmission of disease, but they should -never- be considered 100% effective!.

Herpes which infects the mouth and lips, and herpes which infects the genitals are different viruses!. The tissues of the mouth and genitals are different, and the respective viruses are adapted for each!. Oral herpes is passed via kissing!. Genital herpes is passed via genital to genital contact!.

Yes, herpes can be passed even when condoms are warn during sex if there is genital skin to skin contact!. But condom use does significantly lower the likelihood!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think, the commercial on TV said!.

Herpes - most people who have contracted it got it from their partner when their partner had no signs, or no outbreak!.

So I'd say if a person has Herpes and engages in any sex act ( includes oral) they can pass it on to the other person, even if the person with Herpes does not have an outbreak at the time of engaging in sex!.

This risk is minimized through medication, but it is never eliminated - there will always be a risk!. That is another reason for using condoms even if this is your spouce or long term partner!. You'll reduce your chances of contracting it even further - it makes smart sense!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yep, go ask your doctor, they exspain it better, it may not be genital herpies, but probly will be a form of itWww@Answer-Health@Com
