Answers:
The MRI can show active lesions and inactive ones!. If you are having a flair-up, the active lesions will show!. The way that is done is to give you an injection of contrast material to highlight the new ones!. If there are no active lesions, then they can compare the number to your last MRI!. After the MRI, the doctor will likely do more tests, a spinal tap and a nerve conduction test come to mind!.

I strongly recommend obtaining a second opinion from a top MS specialist at a large teaching hospital!. Also, you are entitled to have copies of all of your test results and reports!. Keep them in a binder and take them with you to any new doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I believe numbness & tingling would last longer than a couple of minutes!. I got numbness in the bottom of my feet & it turned out to be my back a narrowing of the spinal canal!.

Usually in MS the sensations will be on 1 side of the body!.

An MRI can show lesions up to 2 months prior to the test even if you aren't currently having symptoms!. Newer MRI techniques can show even more signs of damage to the myelin sheath!.
There are also other tests that can be done!.
