Answers:
The cramps you described are related to many things, including how you eat and breathe!.

Firstly, you need to stretch before and after you run!. It's not wise to just rush into running!. Build up to it, take a brisk walk beforehand and walk for a few minutes afterwards!.

Make sure you hydrate, with water, not soda!. Water is the best way to hydrate!. If your run is long, consider hydrating while you run as well!. Be sure to drink regularly, and not just when you get thirsty!. Try drinking before you get thirsty!.

Bananas are a good source of potassium, which are known to prevent running cramps!.

The cause of the cramps are lack of oxygen to those muscles, so make sure to take deep breaths while you run!.

Some simple ways to prevent it beforehand:

1) Don't eat two or less hours before hand!. Food in the stomach has been shown to increase the chances of the side stitch (running cramp)

2) Stretch your arm and abdominal muscles for at least 30 seconds each after warming up (walking for a few minutes)

3) Have even, deep breaths while you run!. If you can, try exhaling while your left foot hits the ground (known to help)!.

4) Train to build your muscle's endurance!. Since you have a week, try running or jogging for a few minutes each day, practicing these techniques!. It should help greatly!. Your body will be more used to running and being pain free!.

5) Drink lots of water!

If you try all of these and the pain still pursues or gets worse, I would suggest seeing a doctor for more help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
