Answers:
Olive or vegetable oil as these suffocate the lice!. Coat the hair thoroughly and comb through with a fine tooth comb!. You will find many dying lice on the comb immediately!. Leave it on for about half hour, then wash out using shampoo!. Repeat the process every four days for about 2 weeks as this treatment will not kill the eggs!.

As a preventative, I used to put a few drops of tea tree oil mixed with water into a squirty bottle and spray my daughter's hair each morning before she went to school!. This definitely works as she never caught them again whilst using this as a prevention!. Although the smell is quite strong at first, it settles after a while, and can't be smelled by anyone but the lice!. The lice don't like the smell, so they immediately move on to somewhere else!.

Hope this helps!

EDIT: I found out about the olive oil treatment in a newsletter from the school!. This treatment was recommended by the Health Dept!. as an effective method of treatment!. You can also use hair conditioner as it works in the same way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Lice shampoo is no more expensive than what you would buy trying not to buy it!.But if you happen to have some dog shampoo called sulfodine it has the same ingredient as the main in lice shampoo but its not recommended for use on humans!.Its a school problem but after several outbreaks at my grandaughters school beleive it or she never got it again!.I don't know of any household product that will kill lice!.Best thing to do is just buy the treatment and use it as directed on bottle!.There is no embrassment to it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you serious!? The only thing that will work for you is sold in a store and they don't cost that much like 8 to 10 dollars!. If your that broke then maybe you should go get a job!

Do what Siliva says and you'll be infectining other people just go buy it from the store!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

who knows but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be safe!.!.!.get something over the counter!.!.that's the best thing to do! I know your budget is tight but it beats hurting someone with household chemicals!Www@Answer-Health@Com
