Self-medicating?!

Question: Self-medicating!?
I'm an uninsured American, and about every three weeks I have anxiety attacks!. I can't afford to go to a doctor, so I have come up with my own way to take care of it!. For immediate relief, I smoke two cigarettes!. I find this calms me down right away and then sometimes I ride my bike to clear my mind!. I hate the taste and smell of cigarettes, so I usually end up brushing my teeth and washing my hands repeatedly afterwards!. Are two cigarettes every three weeks going to be bad for my health in the long run!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Panic attacks are terrible!.!.!. I was diagnosed when I was 19 years old!. The thing you need to know is the worst thing that can happen when having a panic attack is that you could pass out if you hyperventilate too much!. Secondly, smoking cigarettes will only make the panic attack worse!. Try to take your mind off the panic attack!. Get a paper bag and breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth!. It helps slow down your breathing!. You can also call a friend and talk to them to take your mind off the panic attack and you can ride your bike as well!.!.!. whatever makes you feel better!.

You can control panic attacks without medication!. It will take some time, but trust me!.!.!. it does work!. I haven't had a panic attack in years, and I'm 34 now!. I didn't want to take medicine!. I do know how you feel!.

You mentioned brushing your teeth after you smoke and washing your hands repeatedly!. You could also have OCD!. Try very hard not to do this because it could take over your life and you don't want that!. I wish you all the best and I hope you start to feel better very soon!. Take care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
