Anyone know anything about Pharmacy???!

Question: Anyone know anything about Pharmacy!?!?!?
My husband has a blood disorder that makes his skin itchy !. A while ago we were advised to get aqueous cream with menthol crystals as it great for combating itching!. He did get one small tub from the hospital but couldn't stand the ' coldness ' ( big wuss !) Anyhow I got sun burnt once and used the cream and it was FANTASTIC!.

NOW heres my question!.!.!.!.!.WHy when I went to the chemist before did the pharmacist say the product was ' unlicensed ' and looked at me like I was a druggie or something!?

Why is something this bland 'unlicensed ' !?

I think I'll be lucky to get even one answer for this!. LOL!!!!

BTW I am sunburnt again thats why I want it!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Basically the pharmacist hasnt explained very well!! Aqueous cream you can buy over the counter!. But aqueous cream and menthol is something that has to be ordered through a specials manufacturer so ends up costing more money thats why its called unlicensed!. Not so long ago the chemist could make it up on the premises but rules change and this can no longer be done! Try aloe vera gel this is very good for sunburn and has a cooling effect!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unlicensed means it hasn't been approved by the FDA!. What you have sounds like a cold cream type product!. Menthol is used in a number of products!. Some of them are defined as drug products and some are cosmetic products!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What it may mean is that it is still going through its trial period, and that there has not been enough feedback on possible after effects etc!.
The best person to ask for information about product licensing etc would be the pharmacist him/her self

Aqueous cream is not a licenced drug, you can buy it freely, whats known as a "general sales list" medication!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Best of luck finding your cream!.!. if you cant try an aloe vera emergency spray!.!. i swear by it!.!.xxWww@Answer-Health@Com
