Hi my mam is getting a cataract removed this afternoon!. Im just wondering if she will be able to go out shopping after its done,she dosnt get out much so she is looking forward to it!. My question is will she have a patch on her eye will she be able to see straight away!.we have no idea what to exspect,Www@Answer-Health@Com

The cornea is opened up and the diseased lens removed and replaced with a plastic one!. Your Mum will have tiny stitches in her eye and will probably have to wear an eye guard when outside for a few days and have to instill eye drops!. She will be able to see straight away and her sight will improve as she heals - her physician should have told her all this! My Mum had both eyes done and it changed her life for the better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Hi, if you mum is having it removed by laser surgery she will be able to see more or less immediately but it will be blurry for a while!. My friend Frank had his removed on Monday afternoon and was out and about on Tuesday morning!.
Ask the doctors the questions you have they will give you all the info you need!.
