Ear Infection questions...?!
Question: Ear Infection questions!.!.!.!?
I absolutely HATE going to the Doc!. I know, I know!.!.!.but its expensive and I am extremely in tune with my body!. Usually I have the diagnosis part right even before I step foot into the office!.
I get lots of Ear Infections!.!.!.always have, ever since I was a baby!. I usually take tons of Benadryl, stop smoking/drinking, drink lots of fluids and get lots of rest!.!.!.and usually it goes away just fine!.
However, there are times when I lose hearing or have extreme pain during an ear infection and I get really irritated, because I can't hear a darn thing out of an ear and because I have to go see a doc!.
I know what works!.!.!.Amoxicillin!. I take it for a week and hearing comes back in a day or two, and the infection/pain is gone within the week!.
Why can't I just go buy amoxicillin or something like it without a script!.!.!. or is there some doc that I can go see and just tell them whats wrong!.!.!.why all the red tape!?!?!?!? I JUST WANT TO HEAR! Any cheap/easier ways to cure an ear infection!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am an RN!. It is frustrating but the MD can see your ear drum and see if it is bulging or has burst!. You can also then develop vertigo and ear nerve damage and possibly hearing loss!. It's more dangerous than one would imagine!. The other thing is sometimes if you are on a med, i!.e!., Amoxicillin, it can become less effective over time!. In addition, you can suddenly develop a severe drug reaction, even if you have tolerated it well in the past!. Antibiotics taken in a cavalier fashion can cause the microorganisms to not respond to the drug as well as it has!.
That is why we are seeing the lethal MRSA infections in this country!. I notice a cig!. in your picture - that can weaken your immune system as well as cause lung and cardiac damage much sooner than you think!. It's hard to quit but you might want to consider it!.
