oh yes indeed, the body after all is designed to live and it objects strenuously to death and fights it for it's worth!. I've cared for enough dying patients to know that it is not ever a pleasant process!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The death itself, probably so!. There are a couple of deaths in which it is possible to die so quickly that you probably should not feel it!. A gunshot close enough to the brain that cuts through the nerve connection to the brain before it feels it, or an explosion that eliminates the nerves before they can send the message to the brain that the body is feeling any pain for examples!.
But being dead itself!. I suppose that would depend on belief!. The majority of religions believe in some type of afterlife!. For some, that includes some type of Hell as punishment for those who are "bad!." Or some religions like Buddhism that have a reincarnation into a new life; but in that new life karma must be paid back!. And bad karma could be painful to pay back!.
But there are some interpretations of various religious books or belief systems like Atheism that simply believe that death is non-existence!. No more or less painful than what you went through before you were born and had not existed!.
In that belief system, since you don't exist you cannot feel pain!.
So I guess more than anything death itself is based on your beliefs as to whether you think it will be painful or not; and pain in the dying act depends on the circumstances under which the dying occurred!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes its a painful thing!.!.!.but if you die in sleep cuz of heart attack or in coma then you dont feel anything!. However, after death, if you go to hell, then its an eternal pain, cuz you burn in fire forever, but If you read the Bible and recieved christ in your life, and loved christ with all your heart, your mind, your strength, then you live in heaven with christ, which is, trust me, better than life here on earth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
